Welcome to Roborough Preschool

Nurturing Minds in the heart of the Community

Roborough Preschool provides exceptional care and education in a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 2-4 years old.

Established Early Learning with Community Roots

Roborough Preschool was founded in 1972 by two ladies from our local community who were eager to provide play facilities for the children of local families. On June 6th 1993, it became a registered educational charity. A lot has changed since then and it evolved over the years into an established early-years learning provider for the local community that has continued to receive a ‘good’ Ofsted rating (September 2023).

The setting was once based in the church hall of Roborough Methodist Church where we spent many happy years but we have recently made the move into the Woolwell Community Centre’s Roborough Suite.

The Pre-School is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, governed by a Board of Trustees. The Chair of the Trustees and the Nominated Individual is Marcus Laine and the Pre-School Manager is Sam Partington.

Nurturing Happy Learners Aged 2-4

We are a small family-feel setting with a big heart where children aged 2-4 play and learn together. Our children’s well-being and education are of the utmost importance to us, and our setting upholds the four principles of the EYFS: a unique child, positive relationships, enabling environments, and learning and development.

Our Pre-School is filled with happy, inquisitive learners who enjoy walking through our doors. We provide a structured environment where children learn rules and routines, guided activities, and child-initiated free flow. We also pride ourselves on getting out and about and exploring our local environment such as visits to the local park. We have a good relationship with the local school and partake in transition activities when the time comes for your child to take their next step. Our staff work hard to give your children the best possible start to their educational journey in a nurturing, friendly and homely atmosphere.
