About Us

Welcome

Hello and welcome to our Pre-School family. At Roborough Pre-School we understand that placing your child into an early years setting can be a daunting but exciting time for both yourself and your child.

As parents ourselves, we have to go through this process and understand the importance of knowing your child is safe and happy in a setting that will care for and nurture them to achieve their best potential. At Roborough Pre-School we pride ourselves on making your child feel confident and secure to express themselves and reach their goals.

We work hard to establish strong relationships with our families and to be there to support you through this journey of your child’s life. We take great privilege in being able to play a part in helping shape your child’s early learning and in watching them grow and develop, equipping them with the tools they need as they move towards the next steps into school.

Meet the committee

We are a registered charity run by an elected Committee of volunteers, mostly comprising parents and grandparents of children attending/who have attended the Pre-School. The Committee work in tandem with the Pre-School staff to ensure the smooth running of the Pre-School.

Marcus Laine - Chairman

I retired from the police service in 2017 after a long and fulfilling career as a senior officer, followed by eight years as a civilian manager. Throughout my working life, I’ve been dedicated to supporting and protecting others, and that commitment continues in my role as Chairperson of Roborough Preschool.

I care passionately about giving children the best possible start in life and am proud to support the dedicated team who make Roborough Preschool such a nurturing and inspiring place for young children to grow and thrive.

Jasmine Nolan - Treasurer

Jaz has served as the committee treasurer since 2022, bringing both dedication and valuable insight as a parent of two boys who have attended the preschool—her youngest set to graduate in July 2025. A passionate advocate for the preschool’s ongoing success, she shares a strong commitment to its future alongside the rest of the committee.

Outside of her committee role, Jaz works full-time as a midwife sonographer and also produces global training packages, balancing her professional expertise with her dedication to early childhood education.

Nick Winpenny - Secretary

After more than 20 years working as a creative designer, I wanted to find a way to use my skills and experience to give something back to the local community. Joining Roborough Preschool as Secretary and Trustee has allowed me to do exactly that. In this role, I support the smooth running of the preschool, ensuring good communication, efficient processes, and strong governance so the staff can focus on what matters most — caring for the children.

I’m proud to support such a dedicated team and to play a part in creating a positive, nurturing environment where children can grow and thrive.
